Taking over the banks of the River Soar, the historic Castle Gardens and De Montfort University campus every June is the Riverside Festival, a family-friendly weekend which brings the whole Leicester community together with music, food, canal boats, kayaking and dragon boat racing. There’s also the chance to buy from local crafters, designers and makers. The festival is completely free and is a fantastic way to experience the festival city of Leicester.
